The Story Of A Fine Art Family Photographer Living In Portland Oregon
Hello! My name is Jamie and I’m the gal behind the lens. I’d love to take a walk with you down memory lane and share a bit about my photography journey. (All while giving you a sneak peak into gorgeous family photos taken in and around Portland, Oregon, of course!).
It all started over a decade ago. I was just a girl with a dream (and a camera). I lived in downtown Portland and would spend all my free time walking through the city capturing the sites.
From roses to bicycles, bridges and birds…. I photographed it all. Eventually I worked up the courage to photograph some friends.
From then on my love for portrait photography became a full blown passion. I photographed anyone and everyone I could!
I worked passionately to develop my style. As someone who always felt self conscious being photographed, I worked hard to enable women to feel comfortable behind the lens.
I created a photography approach that enables women and their families to feel amazing during their photo session. The resultant images are beautiful, authentic, and fun.
Light + Airy, Authentic Family Photography
Over the years I photographed many wedding and countless portrait sessions. I continually worked to define my photography style and esthetic.
I believe simplicity and genuine emotion create the most beautiful photographs.
Today, I photograph families in an authentic and genuine way. I use a bright and airy shooting style and avoid trendy editing. My goal is to document your family in a way that is timeless and true to who you are.
My photography style is timeless, classy and ethereal. I strive to capture the beauty of relationships in a simple, emotive way.
Easy and Relaxed Family Photos
As a mom of 4, I know first hand how stressful family photos can be. From finding the right outfits to wrangling the kiddos out the door, family photo shoots can be stressful!
I am here to help you take the stress out of planning your session. I’m also going to make sure the actual session is a relaxed and fun experience for all.
In my professional mom opinion, there is no reason family photos can’t be fun AND result in gorgeous images. I help you accomplish this by:
- Helping you plan and prepare for your session with wardrobe advice, location ideas and unlimited answers to any questions you may have
- Creating a calm, fun environment for your kiddos where play is encouraged
- Using fun + interactive games, free play and movement to keep your kids happy and involved
- Encouraging breaks and resting as needed throughout the session
- Allowing ample time for the shoot
- Letting your kiddos just be themselves (I’ve worked around it all, believe me!)

Review From Leah:
“Jamie- I have no words. These photos are amazing and so much more than I hoped for! I absolutely adore them and I can say without a doubt they are my most favorite pictures we’ve taken as a family).
Thank you for capturing our fun-loving energy, our hearts, our love, the ever-loved frog binky (haha) and of course, our sweet dog Artemis (Bert). I appreciate how comfortable you made us feel and how you didn’t force the typical posed pictures.
You worked so well with our fussy babe toward the end of the shoot and you’d never know it from the pictures. I cannot tell you how treasured these are and I wish you would move to Montana so we could get more pictures done from you! Thank you a million times over for this gift.”
